Kew, 7:24am
$480.00 / Sold Out
Every drawing from ‘SIX WORKS’ is an original piece which follows the changing times of day in different suburbs across Melbourne - this one in particular, 'Kew, 7:24am' is equal portions bright and quiet - just like the morning in Kew I referenced to create the work. I used two colours, in equal portions to depict lilac shades melding into a zesty yellow, that tapers off almost completely at the bottom, which is where the horizon line started. I have used soft pastel on paper, hand-grinding the pigments and working from a photograph of the sky - during either a sunrise or sunset - to capture the shifting tones.
My serving suggestion for this piece is an duck-egg blue coloured frame, created by United Measures Framing. They use Australian hardwood (11/38 profile), hand-painted, UV matt clear coat finish, UV protective glass, float mounted artwork.
